One-hand receivers in the museum
Audio stations with one-hand receivers in museums offer visitors the opportunity to listen to audio material that provides additional information, explanations, or stories about the exhibited objects or exhibitions. These stations serve to deepen the visitor experience by offering auditory access to the content. They can contain historical backgrounds, cultural significance, or interesting anecdotes.
The iSHearo one-hand receiver is used in many museums, such as the German Mining Museum Bochum, the Oelsnitz Mining Museum, the Carl Bosch Museum in Heidelberg, and the Enigma Museum of Communication in Denmark.

Multilingual Information
The content can be offered in multiple languages to enable foreign tourists to access the content in their native language. This can be done using the switch on the handset or by switching on the playback device.
Barrier-free Accessibility
Listening stations can support the provision of barrier-free information by providing audio content for visitors with visual impairments or other needs.
Made in Germany
The body, holder, speaker grille, and steel hose of the iSHearo one-hand receivers come from German workshops and suppliers. All components are assembled, fully mounted, and tested in our in-house workshop.

FAQs — Frequently Asked Questions
How does the installation work? What equipment do we need to operate the single-ear headphones?
An installation manual is supplied (iSHearo Installation Guide). If required, you can request an installation service from the system integrator inSynergie. As the audio receiver functions as a simple loudspeaker, you will also need an audio player, such as our iSAudioPlayer, a PC or a tablet/mobile device.
An amplifier is also recommended if you wish to achieve higher volume levels.
We can supply accessories for the single-ear headphone on request. Just ask us!
How is the single-ear headphone connected? What connector options are available?
The iSHearo is supplied as standard with open cable ends. This allows you to connect the audio signal and reed switch to suit your own requirements. Further information can be found in the iSHearo installation guide.
On request, we can also provide pre-fitted connectors such as a 3.5 mm jack (3-pin), balanced mono signal or other connectors for a small additional charge.
Please note that the single-ear headphone has only one speaker and therefore outputs only a mono signal! If you are using a stereo audio file, both channels should play the same content.
Can different audio tracks be selected on a single-ear headphone using external buttons?
Yes, this can be programmed in the iSAudioPlayer. For example, pressing a button on the one-ear headphone or an external button can switch between a German and an English track, or skip to a different chapter.

Are the single-ear headphones suitable for repeated installation in varying exhibition set-ups?
The headphones can be easily dismantled and reused.
Nothing is permanently fixed during installation, for example by gluing or soldering. The screw connections can be undone.
Is there a reseller discount?
Yes, if you are a system integrator or reseller, you will receive a reseller discount on our one-handed earphones. Please mention this when making your enquiry, as it is not always immediately apparent to us.
What warranty is offered on the single-ear headphones?
The iSHearo comes with a 24-month return warranty. The warranty does not cover devices with physical damage.
Generally speaking, the iSHearo is very robust, as we know it is not always handled with care in museums.
Is it possible to cancel an order?
Yes, provided the goods have not yet been dispatched, you can cancel your order by emailing info@visibition.com.
Once an order has been received, we incur costs for the manufacture of the headphones and logistics. If the order is cancelled, we must therefore charge a processing fee of 10 per cent of the order value or a minimum of 35 euros.
How should the handsets be cleaned?
Switch off the audio station. Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning or maintenance (unplug the mains plug).
Electrical appliances must only be cleaned and maintained externally. Wipe them down with a cloth that is barely damp and do not allow any liquid to penetrate the interior of the device.
After cleaning, wait a while before reconnecting the device to the mains so that it can dry thoroughly.
Clean any dirt with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
Use only warm water and then rub the device dry.
It is best to clean dust-covered crevices with compressed air. Take care to blow the dust outwards or to the side (not into the interior of the appliance).
Opening the device casing will result in a waiver of liability and may invalidate warranty claims.
The interior of the casing must only be cleaned by certified service technicians.
